ABOUT MOSANGO
Behind every tradition
are people.
Based in Grimbergen, Mosango VZW is a nonprofit association that cares about the traditions, stories and creativity people bring into everyday life.
A place for people and traditions
When people come together to make, listen, celebrate or teach one another, heritage becomes something we can experience, not simply read about. That is the spirit behind Mosango.
Why we come together
Every community holds knowledge worth sharing. At Mosango, we want that knowledge to have a place in everyday life, and a chance to reach the next generation.
Our mission
To preserve, celebrate and promote cultural heritage by connecting communities, safeguarding traditions and making cultural knowledge accessible to present and future generations.
Our vision
We hope for communities where people feel proud of their heritage and curious about the traditions of others, where generations learn from each other without losing what makes every story unique.
What matters to us
Pass it on
Help traditional arts, music, dance, stories and everyday skills find new audiences and new hands.
Make room for everyone
Offer welcoming ways to learn and join in, whatever your age, experience or background.
Learn from each other
Give people a reason to meet, listen and discover what matters to their neighbours.
How we work
We listen before we tell someone else’s story. We ask permission, acknowledge the people who share their knowledge and make room for different voices.
